Sažetak
Cadmium is potent genotoxic agent. Even an exposure to very low concentrations of cadmium is capable of increasing chromosomal damages. In the present study cytochalasin-B blocked binucleate human lymphocytes have been used to measure micronucleus induction after treatment with cadmium chloride. Cadmium chloride was added to the cultures at the begining of cultivation period. The concentrations in culture 10-3, 10-4, 10-5 and 10-6 M. The frequency and distribution of micronuclei were analysed in 72 hours culture of peripheral blood lymphocytes. Barium hydroxide treatment has been used for visualisation of centromere containing micronuclei. Cadmium chloride produced regular dose-response, that is, with increasing cadmium chloride concentration the number of micronucleated cells grew higher.
