Sažetak
Lowland areas in Croatia present regions of primary interest for forest industry because of very valuable pedunculate oak forests. The sustainability of those resources is mostly dependent of abundance of water in respective hydromorphic soils what presents the most dominant ecological factor in those forest ecosystems. Decreasing of groundwater tables due to the global climate change and local hydro technical activities reflects on productivity of those forests what was the main reason for foresters to establish long-term groundwater monitoring studies to acquaint themselves with some deeper knowledge of that matter. The monitoring of groundwater levels has been established in main forest complexes where measurements have been taken on large number of piezometric stations on weekly bases. Until now, somewhere more than a decade long time series of data have been collected. In this research we perform analysis of groundwater data from three lowland forest regions with different groundwater regime. Differences in groundwater regimes in these forest areas are connected to their position either in pluviothermic regime of river Sava catchment or glacial regime of river Drava catchment. Main soil properties in these areas and their relationship to particular groundwater behavior were also studied. Spatial analysis of groundwater series was made using GRASS (Geographical Resources Analysis Support System) IDW (Inverse distance weighted average) interpolation and by geostatistical program Gstat.
