Sažetak
A method for identification of inorganic substances present in honey, which is considered as an environmental pollution monitor, is described. Dissolved residue, after combustion of honey samples, was chromatographeied by TLC on cellulose microcrystaline layers. Wet combustion in presence of HClO4, HNO3 and H2SO4 (residue dissolved in water) and combustion at 550 oC (residue dissolved in HNO3) were tested. The results indicate that dry combustion is preferable and that pH adjustment of the solution applied to the chromatographic plate is necessary. Tests were done on a large number of solvent systems for developing and reagents for detection. The following ions were identified: K+, Na*, Ca2+, Mg2+, Al3+, Fe3+, Cu2+ and phosphate. The chromatograms of honey samples were compared with chromatograms of mentioned elements from synthetic mixture simulating the composition of dissolved residue and the amounts of cations were estimated. The values obtained by TLC were compared with the values obtained by AAS.
