Sažetak
In cavities of the posterior teeth, which are covering more than 2/3 of the occlusal surface, the vertical dimension of the occlusion is endangered and a possible source occlusal interference in the sliding movements of the articulation. Composite materials do not show a long-term stability. Ceramic and composite (Targis & Vectris) inlays are accessible to small group of people due to the economical reasons. Recently on the market was presented the possible solution to this problem of fixation of the vertical dimension. The composite materials which occlusal surface are being reinforced by ceramic inserts in manner that these inserts are being placed into cavities with their wide surface or they fulfill the whole occlusal part of the cavity, like a bad inlay, could be the solution. Ceramic inserts with small diameter on the occlusal surface, after attrition of the composite and the resistivity of ceramics, soon become interference in articulation. In the study we presented the usage of ceramic inserts put into the cavities with their longer axis using the sandwich technique.
