Sažetak
Control of structural elements of existing offshore gas and oil platforms must be done periodically by the survey rules defined for specific platform.Principles of survey procedure, which ensures safety and integrity of the ex-isting structure, are supported by newest experiences of the Minerals Man-agement Service (MMS) of U.S. Department of Interior. The criteria for se-lection of structural elements are transferred from ISO standards and Ameri-can Petroleum Institute (API) recommendations. The existing platforms are assigned in categories for both life safety and consequence of failure considerations. Survey frequency depends upon the survey level and exposure category.Inspection strategy is regulated on risk assessment and evaluation of struc-tural elements integrity and shall be based on likelihood of platform compo-nent failure. The platforms assessment is described in step-by-step proce-dure, including the selection of structural elements according to the defined criteria. The criteria are based on loading intensity, stresses, stress concen-tration of elements and joints and other influences to the assessment of plat-forms fatigue life. According to MMS recommendation and the principles based on RBUI (Risk Based Underwater Inspection), elements are classified in groups of higher, medium or low risk thus depending frequency and level of survey.
