Sažetak
One of the approaches to brain tumour removal is the use CUSA (Cavitation Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator). During this process, a substantial amount of sound energy focuses as a result of reflection within the skull. The distribution of sound pressure within an air-filled skull has been measured at a frequency of 5563 Hz. The results confirm sound focusing and a conclusion can be reached that the same phenomenon occurs during actual brain surgery by CUSA.
