Sažetak
Although the ideal Stirling engine cycle between two isotherms and twi isochores has been never realized, there were a number of inventors, who, begining from 1816 up to now, have tried to attain it (including the brothers J. and R. Stirling). This paper gives an overview of the latest results of numerical investigations of the effects of lowering the Stirling engine sink temperature on its characteristics and inform about the consequences: the development of LGiSE (Liquid Gas injection Stirling Engine), the new Stirling engine concept, which can be one possible solution of the above mentioned endeavours. An experimental model based on this new concept was realized with the PROBA3A engine. With one especially developed numerical simulation program this paper intends to show the performance of Stirling engines built on the basis of this concept, among others for exergy utilization in the LPG or LNG plants.
