Sažetak
A rich and diverse new experimental program in baryon spectroscopy is underway that utilizes the Crystal Ball (CB) multiphoton spectrometer at the Alternating Gradient Synchrocyclotron (AGS) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The motivation is to improve the determination of the masses, widths and decay modes of baryon resonances, and to determine the etaLambda and etaSigma scattering lengths. Measurement of these fundamental properties of the elementary piN and KN systems tests the theoretical models that predict the spectra and characteristics of the resonances.
