Sažetak
For the drying and curing treatments of textile materials a microwave device has been designed at the Department of Textle Finishing and Material testing at the Faculty of Textile Technology. This newly developed model consist of two magnetrons of 500 W each, positioned at two opposite sides of the treated material. Applied rectangular waveguides have line slots for the planar passage of textile materials. Waveguides are mutually connected wit a 180 o waveguide bend. Such meander applicator system improves energy distribution obtaining better uniformity across the whole width of the material.The major adventage of microwave implementation, from economical point of view, is a lower production cost. Furthermore, elimination of preliminary drying procedure is possible especilly for the treatment of thick materials, which usualy require two - step thermal treatments in conventional production units. Results obtained by these experiments are very promising, vhich indicates possible industrial usage.
