Sažetak
Introduction: Telemetry of the cochlear implant has become the integral part of cochlear implantation procedure. A cochlear implant is now not only a stimulus-delivering device, but also a detector for electro-physiologic activity of the inner ear and auditory nerve... Patients and methods: In the period from June 1996 to the end of February 2004, 202 cochlear implantations were performed at our clinic with the same number of intraoperative telemetries. 82 telemetries were performed using the latest Cochlear software and interface available... Results: In the observed group we found that 9 (22%) had completely absent EESR. Three out of these 9 displayed unordinary NRT. One had to have his electrodes 13 to 19 measured manually, one had no response on electrodes 15-19 and the third showed no response on electrodes 1 and 19... Discussion: Altogether both EESR and ECAP measurements showed to be a reliable method of gathering useful data for future use with persons with cochlear implant...
