Sažetak
Indicators of number of the convicted addicts in the institutional treatment are alarming. The structured treatment programs for those convicts do not exist, neither within institution, nor after their release. The purpose of the project is introduction of one structured treatment program, with the emphasis on post-treatment reception and evaluation of the work methods, which will provide necessary and clear indicators of success. The goal of the project is creation, implementation and evaluation of efficiency of a program of drug addict treatment within the correctional institution with the post-treatment aftercare. According to the legal and ethical criteria, a sample of convicted addicts is formed who are included into individual and group treatment in the correctional institutions. After the release, they are being included into community treatment. Various evaluation instruments are systematically administered within institution and outside. The program within institution lasts continuously for three years and the program within the community for two more. The maximum project duration is five years. The significance of this project lies in the fact that, for the first time in Croatia, a method of work based upon evaluated treatment programs is introduced into penal system.
