Sažetak
There has always been a generally accepted opinion that Italian influence on Croatian has been restricted to the Adriatic coastal area while German has spread its influence mainly in the continental parts of Croatia. Another, similar impression is that German has influenced the Kajkavian dialect, while Italian has influenced the Čakavian one. Such simplified views function to a certain extent and are valid for the majority of loans, the situation, however, is much more complex.
