Sažetak
The protection of exploitable rock mass in the bed from damaging due to high rock stresses induced by mining activities is presented on the quarry Zečevo (island of Brac). The present issue is the precise definition of the discontinuity fabric and in-situ determination of principle directions and intensity of stresses aimed at the protection of the exploitable rock mass from the cracking. The stability problem and the design underground spaces at the excavation of natural stone by the room and pillar method on the quarry Kanfanar (Istria) is presented too.
