Sažetak
The purpose of this paper is to indicate the connection between driver behaviour and road traffic safety. The research of driver attitudes towards road traffic risk and their possible relation to road safety has been carried out for the chosen sample of drivers between the age of 18 and 65 and with certain driving experience (the possession of a driving licence). In the research, the survey method and interviewing of drivers were used within the defined sample. This paper deals with only a part of concrete questions which refer to the estimate of behaviour in driving, regarding respect of the speed limit, drunk driving, using safety belts and being part of a traffic accident. The obtained data were processed by a computer programme adapted for that purpose. The Chi-square test statistical method was used for testing of the hypothesis and drawing conclusions. The exact indicators were obtained according to which conclusions on driver behaviour during driving were defined and their possible relation with road traffic safety.
