Sažetak
Different pests (insects and mites) could infest stored medical herbs and tee in the inconvenient conditions (high relative air moisture and temperature).
The purpose of the present study was to examine the harmful insects and mites of stored medical herbs and tee: Althaea officinalis L.-white mallow, Ocimum basilicum L.-basil, Salvia officinalis L.-shop-sage, Matricaria chamomilla L.-chamomile flower, Lavandula officinalis Chaix- lavander, Melissa officinalis L.-balm, Salvia sclarea L.-clary sage, Calendula officinalis L.- common marygold, Valeriana officinalis L.-varian, Mentha piperita L.-peppermint, Thymus vulgaris L.-garden thyme, Morus nigra L.- black mulberry) and from different tee of those herbs.
By the sieving of 120 samples of medical herbs and tee, with automatic apparatus, following insects were identified: Order Coleoptera -Oryzaephilus mercator Fauv. Ptinus clavipes Panz.; Order Psocoptera - Lepinotus inquillinus Heyd., Lepinotus reticulatus End., Liposcelis corrodens Heym., Liposcelis bostrichophila Bad.; Order Lepidoptera - Ephestia elutella Hb. From the mites - Acarina was identified species Glycyphagus domesticus Deg.
The most abundant were psocids (75%), mostly species L. inquillinus in the lives of black mulberry.
Pest protection is based mostly on prevention, but chemicals are applied as a last measure in order to decrease medical herbs and tee contamination The most frequently applied compound are dichlorovos, pirimiphos-methyl and phosphine, but only in older material of medical herbs and tee.
Also was study the insecticidal activity of different aromatic plants (dried dust and oil extract) such as Laurus nobilis L. and Rosmarinus officinalis L. against Psocoptera - Lepinotus inquillinus. The both aromatic plants showed 100% mortality of psocids, like a fumigant, by the treatment of l kg Morus nigra with 1-ml oil extract.
