Sažetak
Croatian Society of Hypertension endorses the current, 2003 European guidelines for the management of arterial hypertension1 with only two exceptions: it disapproves the marginalization of fundoscopy in the hypertensive work-up, and, between the available antihypertensives, based on efficacy, safety and cost-containment gives preference to low-dosed diuretics in asymptomatic, middle-aged, or elderly patients with no compelling indications for another class.
