Sažetak
Recently discovered in Central Dalmatia are breccias of submarine origin (“ Tilovica breccias) assigned to Paleocene age by means of smaller benthic and planktonic foraminifera found either in pelagic interbeds or in the matrix. The breccias define a “ trough” developed by Cretaceous tectonics and global sea-level rise and give a new insight into the evolution of the External Dinarides (Croatia). Its existence suggests new paleogeographic interpretation of the region.
