Sažetak
Corrosion is an important factor in the degradation of steel structures in thermoelectric power systems. Namely, constructional materials in fossil fuel-power plants are subjected to a very aggressive action of the constituents in flue gas. Thus, besides the erosion from fly ash particles, the most common problems encountered at the flame/fleu gas parts of the system are thick deposits of corrosion products which decrease the lifetime of materials used. The degradation of heating surfaces in rotary regenerative air heater is studied. The chemical composition and mechanical properties of a steel used for designing of air heater components are determined. Also, the phases present in corrosion products formed during the several years of exploitation were identified by XRD-analyses.
