The paper will explain the meaning and importance of productivity in construction projects and construction companies. The possition of construction companies in the global market will be discussed. The impact of productivity on competitiveness of construction companies will be analysed. The techniques and methods for improvement of productivity will be explined. The project of international construction labour productivity benchmarking will be presented, together with recent results.
