Sažetak
Mrežnica is typical karst river with a strong cavern-like karst source, and large number of springs along izs course, as well as canyon, numerous travertine bariers and almost equal amount of mostly abandoned mills. This region, particulary the upper portions, have shown marked depopulation tendencies, which was exacerbated by the war in Croatia. This is why it is impossible to conceive of any form of protection in this region without a preliminary analysis of the population.
