Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of possible approaches to the process of deadjectival conversion to nouns in English, and analyze if this process should be regarded as a genuine word formation process (conversion), as argued by proponents of the syntactic approach to word-formation, or as a case of semantic change, i.e. a result of profiling by using metonymy and metaphor, as argued by cognitive linguists.
