Sažetak
All Tests for Differential Diagnostic of Aphasia include exercises for naming ability examination. Black and white drawings of objects are usually used, although the colour is an important characteristic that improves naming ability examination. The research presents the examination of naming ability in people with aphasia through black and white, and colured drawings application. The aim of this research was to determinate whether there is an influence of colour in processes of recalling which take place during the naming in aphasic patients. Examination material consisted of fifteen photos in coloured and black and white version. The photos were selected according to the frequency of the objects appearance and usage in everyday life as well as the logical connection between the objects and certain colour. At the beginning every examinee possibility of visual colour recognition was established. To confirm an assumption that a deficit is based only on visual input or on naming difficulties in the straitest sense, and that it is not a result of general semantic ignorance, the examinees were requested to define the objects. Apart from above mentioned the importance of colour in object differentiation was examined by another method. Four groups of structurally similar objects were presented in black and white technique and afterwards in coloured one. Examinees were demanded to show the target object. By all examinees exercises in colour in both subtests were named more correctly. Errors, which appeared in both subtests, were present with most examinees regardless of the localisation of damage and the type of aphasia. This research has confirmed the fact that the colour is an important component, and is also often a key semantic differential factor that contributes to the easier recognition of objects, which are accepted as real objects. Semantic difficulties are often a problem in a therapy of aphasia patients, but the role of colour in diagnostic process is rarely mentioned in the speech language investigations.
