Sažetak
The proposed successive elimination method can be used for solving the system of linear equations with the same number of numerical operations as required for Gauss’ elimination method, but with four times less computer memory. In addition, a memory requirement continuously changes during calculation process. As a consequence, the number of data swaps between fast RAM and slow external memory (hard disk) are significantly reduced. The reduced number of data swaps manifests in remarkable speed up of the computer program.
