Sažetak
Natural zeolite tuff, which appears in porous sedimentary rocks in Donje Jesenje, Croatia, is one of the promising minerals in environmental protection. Its main mineralogical component is clinoptilolite (Cp). Clinoptilolite is known as a cation ion exchanger, as well as a selective and effective sorbent for ammonium ions and ammonia. Its characteristics and properties in waste water treatment with variable ammonium ions and some other cations concentrations are described in this work. The experimental procedures and methods and the results from the application of the natural mineral zeolite (Cp)in ammonium ion and other cations separation from model and real solutions under static conditions are tabulated and presented graphically.
