Sažetak
The possibility of the Aladin NWP mesoscale high-resolution model to forecast the strength and onset time of bora wind is shown for the situation with the greatest wind gust (69.0 m/s) measured on the Maslenica bridge on 21-23 December 1998. is discuused. It is shown that on the basis of the presented prognostic vertical time cross-section with objective description of wind speed and direction the forecasters are able to predict very precisely the onset, duration and intensity of strong wind as well as its vertical extent. Consequently forecasters could issue warning with high reliability.
