Sažetak
The paper discussed limitation of wind speed prediction using Wind Atlas and Application Program (WASP) along the Croatian coast and islands. Hourly wind speeds and directions data, together with detailed orographic, roughness and sheltering information have been used as input for WASP at seven locations. Although the Croiatian coast and islands are regions with very complex topography, rugged hills and steep mountains that clearly lie outside the operational limiots for the WASP, verification analyses (pair-wise station intercomparison) show that the WASP procedures and physical models is still useful for estimating the wind speed distribution at the locations without measurements.
