Sažetak
The glued insulated rail joints are used with signalling and safety systems at the railway lines with electrical safety devices (where the operating rail is used as an electrical conductor). The joints are designated to insulate a specific railway section from the remaining part, so that the electric circuit triggering the corresponding electrical devices would be closed only upon passing by of the wheel. In such a way it would be clearly determined when a train has passed over a certain track section. The mentioned control of the train passing over a certain section is of extreme importance when preventing to place the switch under the train (directly during the train passage). Otherwise a sliding off from the rail would occur. The most important component of the insulated rail joint is an insulating material (nowadays it usually includes the application of synthetic glues). The selection of an appropriate insulating material affects significantly the quality of an insulated joint that could overtake the forces of the continuous welded rail (CWR). The paper deals with the investigation of two types of insulated glued joints made of the rail type 60 E1 (60.34 kg/m'). One insulated joint type was made of the Metalon glue and the other of the Itepoks M60 glue. A dynamic endurance and electrical resistance of insulated joints manufactured at the "PROREG-Zagreb" company were tested. The study resulted in finding the best possible glue type to obtain the glued joint of a high quality, which will be doing their role in the track during the exploitation period.
