Sažetak
Raw wool contains large amounts of foreign matter dependent of wool provenance, such as: wool wax, suint, skin flakes, dirt, sand, vegetable matter, urine and different microorganisms. During raw wool scouring most of the foreign matter is removed but residual impurities often remain on the textile material and also come either from adhering dirt or from abrasion of machinery during processing. The most common metallic trace elements on wool are: iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, aluminium, copper, zinc, manganese and silicon and they influence wool colour and purity. In this work the influence of complexing agent EDTA (etylenediaminetetraacetic acid) on the removal of mineral impurities from wool under scouring conditions and the purification of wastewater after the scouring process have been investigated. A method of the isothermal adsorption on actived carbon and on two types of bentonites for wastewater purification was used. The results were followed by using of phisical- chemical methods of the investigations.
