Sažetak
In contrast to the Apenine Peninsula coast, the relatively rare occurrence of sea lampreys Petromyzon marinus in the Balkan Peninsula is probably due to the closenes of the steep mountains causing unusuitable hydrological condition of streams and impeded acces to the coast.Most specimens are probably represented by invaders carried from the Mediterranean and other regions of the Adriatic sea. Morphology was similar to that recorded for the sea lampreys from other geografical regions.
