A method is proposed to construct a MIMO channel physical model using available multipath statistics: time delay distribution, in conjunction with amplitude and angle of arrival (AoA) distribution. First, the angle of departure (AoD) is obtained from time delay, AoA and assumption of single-bounced rays only. Then, knowing AoA and AoD and assuming identical reflector environment for all array elements, both at transmitter and receiver, a MIMO channel response matrix is obtained from reference SISO channel impulse response by delay correction of each ray. The procedure for implementing such a MIMO model is explained and some examples given.
