Sažetak
Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) is widely used today in design, research and development of hydralic turbines. It is also a part of automatic shape optimisation procedure where the goal is to find optimal shape of turbine parts. Today mostly steady state numerical simulations are applied in industry. Such case is presented in this paper where numerical simulation of an entire Francis turbine fluid flow is shown. Calculation domain contains all tandem cascade and runner channels and no averaging is applied in circumferential direction. The simulation was carried out with the comercial fluid flow solver FLUENT. Geometry definition and grid generation was performed with the FLUENT preprocesor GAMBIT. Diferent points of operations are shown at the same head and compare well with messurments.
