Sažetak
In a previous study we found reappearance of free HCVAg among patients during intensive immunosuppressive therapy with simultaneous disappearance or decrease in the spectra of individual antibodies to different HCV antigens. Some period after withdrawal of immunosuppressive therapy disappearance of free HCVAg and reappearance of anti-HCV occured. We tried to analyse free HCVAg and anti-HCV among patients with immunodeficiency resulting from HIV infection. We analysed a total of 180 anti-HIV positive sera from our blood bank. All samples were tested for anti-HCV by ELISA and RIBA and for free HCVAg. Among 180 anti-HIV positive sera, 75 ( 41, 7 %) were positive for anti-HCV by ELISA. In 35 of them (46.7%) we found free HCVAg simultaneously with anti-HCV. Analysis of individual antibodies to HCVAg revealed similar pattern as among patients on immunosuppressive therapy: domination of antibody to c23c and decrease of antibodies to c100(p), c22(p) and NS5. Among 105 anti-HIV positive and anti-HCV negative 3 of them (2, 9%) were positive for HCVAg. It can be concluded that immunosuppression resulting from HIV infection has similar effect on free HCVAg and anti-HCV as among patients with immunosuppressive therapy. Free HCVAg without anti-HCV found among anti-HIV positive sera indicate that HCV infection among anti-HIV positive patients may be overlooked
