Sažetak
The content of total polyphenols and tannins in the leaves, fruits, flowers, bark and root of Christ, s thorn (Paliurus spina-christi Mill.) has been spectrophotometrically determined by Schneider, s method. The plant samples used in this investigation were collected in the coastal region, at the localities Zadar and Čepikuće, during June and July of 1986 and 1987. The results of investigating have shown the variety of the total polyphenol content between plant parts, while the tannin content was similar. The total polyphenol content was during 1986 5.00-9.20%, however during 1987 5.28-10.00%. The content of tannins was 0.60-3.30%, respectively 2.12-2.88%.
