Sažetak
The numerical-stochastic technique developed for the optimization of the underground cable systems is presented. The procedure is based on: (1) the finite elements mesh generator realized by means of the advancing front method, (2) the non-linear coupled electromagnetic-thermal model, (3) the multiquadric representations of the ampacities including the successive zooming steps, (4) the modern stochastic optimization method - differential evolution. The non-linear coupled electromagnetic-thermal model of the solid sheath power cables is used for the calculation of the ampacity. The computation of the currents and Joule losses is performed by means of the filament method. The method provides the conductors and sheaths to be replaced by a large number of smaller subconductors or filaments. The heat transfer phenomena including infinite domain are modelled using the combination of the finite elements and the mapped infinite elements. The main advantages of the differential evolution are parallel global minimum search technique, the simplified set-up of the optimization task and ability to find the global minimum. The basic strategy generates new parameter vectors by adding the weighted difference between two randomly selected population vectors to a third vector. The multiquadric approximation of the ampacity depending of the bedding dimensions is presented in Figure 1. The finite and infinite element mesh of the cable domain associated with the optimal bedding dimensions is shown in Figure 2. The optimum fulfills the maximum ampacity requirement obtained with the permissible instalation cost. The proposed procedure provides the optimisation of thr complex multicable systems for which neither analitical nor empirical ampacity formulas are not available, resulting to the more ecconomical design.
