Sažetak
Traffic connecting of all the parts of Croatia and its integration into the European traffic system and the traffic system of the Mediterranean are very important for the Croatian overall economic development. With the aim of integrating the national motorways into the European traffic corridors, Croatia is urgently constructing her basic network of high-level service roads – motorways, semi-motorways and fast roads, since high-quality road infrastructure represents the basis for the development of every country. Therefore, the policy of road network management has been oriented towards upgrading of its quality, improvement of maintenance, modernisation and reconstruction as well as the fastest possible construction of motorways in compliance with the traffic demand and development objectives on the one hand and with the Croatian needs and possibilities on the other. The basic objectives of the development strategy of the advanced roads are reflected in high-quality integration into the European road network, and also in the more uniform development of Croatia, the development of her economy, primarily tourism. It is precisely this topic which has been dealt with in more detail in this work.
