Sažetak
The paper reviews basic theory and historical background of multiple input – multiple output (MIMO) wireless systems utilising multiple antennas at both transceiver and receiver side. The potential for increased capacity and throughput in non-line of site and other strong multipath propagation environments is argued. A classification of various MIMO systems is given. The conclusion contains cost-benefit discussion and future applications of MIMO systems.
