Sažetak
Paper based on 17th and 18th ct. sources investigate the healing differenes between the further dualities of healing practices: North Dalmatian coastline versus hinterland medical realities, urban versus rural practice, popular vs. professional methods of healing and preventing of diseases, scientific proofs vs. popular beliefs. The investigation is focused on various aspects of endemic and epidemic diseases, as well as on the role of the state, church and traditional medicine in healing and preventing of diseases.
