Sažetak
Present work describes the construction, use and characteristics of waterbeds and reviews the worldwide research in other sleep systems. Water uniformly supports the body. It provides continuous rather than concentrated load on one or more points. Water core molds to every shape and body type. The pressure is evenly distributed along the whole body, which eliminates top loads, ensures comfort and reduces tossing and turning during sleep. Muscles and ligaments are relaxed and circulation improved which is the important precondition for a restful sleep. Waterbeds are equally suitable at homes, hotels and hospitals.
