Sažetak
From 17th century Franch market was regulary supplied with a variety of shellfish. Since over the last decade the annual production has reached almost 300000t (oysters 40% and mussels 30%). The production of flat oyster Ostrea edulis 1979 was at risk to disappear when Bonamiasis decresed production of 20000t to 1500t. Total production of Japanese oyster (cupped oyser) in France today comes exclusivly (85%) from culture. The mussels production in 1990 reached 60000t. The exploatation of mussels is present with Mytilus edulis in the Atlantic Ocean and Mytilus galloprovincialis in the Mediterranean sea.The cultivation tehnology is adapted to the natural and the enviroment conditions, especially the tide effect present at the Atlantic coast. Because of economic reasons, the higher price of flat oyster on the market caused higher cultivation demans over the Japanese oyster. The intention is to find the healthy parental stock of flat oyster that would be resistant to epizootic diseases.
