Sažetak
A discrete space-time model for electromagnetic transients in helical transformer windings, having one or multiple axial insulating gaps in the electrostatic screen, has been constructed. The model uses generalized functions (distributions) for converting the known distributed electromotive force around the screen to the lumped voltage barriers over gaps. Corrected timing has eliminated the dominant role of the formerly supposed eddy currents. Transient reflections on a single gap successfully replace velocity dispersion, eliminating the need for the modal analysis. The absence of further improvement with increasing the number of gaps initiates numerical experiments with electromagnetic transients on simply terminated multi-conductor lines.
