Sažetak
A mass grave contaning the remains of 28 individuals was discovered in 1999. The remains were attributed to pioneers headed for California in 1857. Osteological analysis of the remains showed clear evidence of cranial and postcranial trauma caused by gunshots, and blunt force trauma.The authors give guidelines for recognizing and interpreting perimortem blunt force trauma in archaeological remains
