Sažetak
Wastewaters originated from the reactive dye manufacturing and dyehouses usually contain about 10 to 1000 mg/l of dyes because of hydrolysis during the production of dyes and losses occured in dyeing of fibers of textile materials. This concentration is high enough to induce marked coloration and presents potential hazard to environment because of organic content. convetional methods for the treatment of coloured watstewater have not shown to be particularly effective. Therefore during the past few years, the so called Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) where highly oxidizing species, like hydroxyl radicals, are produced, have been used to mdecompose various hazardous aromatic pollutants in solutions (phenols, chlorinated hydrocarbons...). In the present study, the ability of the oxidative Fenton, Fenton "like", ozonation, peroxone and high voltage electrical discharge (corona) processes to discolor aqueous solutions of reactive dyes C.I. Reactive Red 45, C.I. Reactive Red 120, C.I. Reactive Blue 49 and C.I. Reactive blue 137 in a well-mixed batch reactor have been studied. The optimal conditions of the AOPs treatment such as molar ratio of iron(II) and iron(III) salt versus hydrogen peroxide, pH, conductivity and time required for the successful decolorization and degradation have been investigated. Process efficiency has been estimated on the basis of the UV/VIS spectrophotometric, TOC and AOX measurements. From the ecological parameters (TOC and AOX), it has been found that wastewater after the applied AOPs treatment can be discharged to the effluents or reused as technological water.
