Sažetak
The worldwide cruise industry has demonstrated tremendous growth rates in the last two decades and has been recognized as the most rapidly expanding segment in the leisure travel area. After Caribbean, the world's major cruising ground, the Mediterranean region is the second largest cruise market in the world. Mediterranean ports can offer the cruise industry and its passengers incredible diversity, historic culture, weather and recreational offerings. Dubrovnik cruise market has great potential for growth and development in the future. It has become one of the favorite destinations in the sector of Adriatic Sea and Mediterranean region as a whole. The data reveal significant rise in calls. With its own tourist destination status, the city itself represents inevitable port of call and today it has the best opportunity to confirm its role as home port. Port must cope with the new requirements of a fast-growing market, heavily investing in new facilities and better service.
