Sažetak
The paper presents a short general approach to the theory and practice of groundwater management. It also includes information about new European policy related to water, defined by the Water Framework Directive and activities under the new Groundwater Directive. Some practical experiences with groundwater problems are demonstrated on the case of Zagreb.
