Sažetak
The phenomenon of cooperation between enterprises has been known for some time but during the 1980s a new type of cooperation appeared. Strategic alliances are becoming increasingly common in global market. The rate at which enterprises (organizations) are entering strategic alliances is growing faster every day. There is no only one definition of strategic alliance. Strategic alliance is something between loose relationships such as outsourcing and tight and definite like acquisitions and mergers. The numerous definitions found in the literature have one thing in common ; the firms enter strategic alliances in order to achieve strategic goals, not periphery ones. Those goals might be: expanding market, access to capital, R&D projects, learning new technologies and skills, gaining credibility, cutting costs etc.
