Sažetak
Paper presents stability analysis of thin-walled beam type structures from the aspect of numerical modelling. Stability problem is treated as eigenvalue one. A new finite element algorithm for linear stability analysis is developed. Stiffness matrices for the 3D beam finite element are evaluated using the linearized virtual work principle with assumption of large displacements, large rotation but small strains. Results of own computer program THINWALL are verified on example of stability analysis of curved cantilever.
