Sažetak
Surfactants are a very important group of organic compounds because of a wide application in textile finishing and care. Adsorption and desorption of ionic surfactants on textile fibres is the field of the investigation in this paper. Different types of cationic and anionic surfactants were adsorbed on cotton, wool, polyester and polypropylene fibres at 20°C for 60 minutes. The quantity of adsorbed surfactants on textile fibres was determined and afterwards textile fibres were dried at 80°C. Thereupon desorption of surfactants was carried out at 20°C for 30 minutes. The quantity of desorbed surfactant enables an additional definition of possible interactions between fibre surface and surfactant. Wide variations in the adsorption and desorption capacities of different fibres were found because of their specific nature and surface charge. The obtained results show an evident influence of hydrophilic and hydrophobic part of surfactant molecules on adsorption and desorption on the fibers of different hydrophobic character and active groups.
