Sažetak
Continuing our studies on the syntheses of some effective compounds against cancer [2, 3] we prepared some new cyano- and amidino-substituted benzothiazoles. Starting with o-aminothiophenole or 2-mercapto-3-amino-benzonitrile and benzaldehyde or p-cyanobenzaldehyde we obtained corresponding mono or dinitriles by condensation reaction. Amidines as hydrochloric salts were prepared by the Pinner reaction of appropiate nitriles. Antitumor evaluation were carried out on 4 human cell lines: DU-145 (prostate carcinoma), HT-1080 (fibrosarcoma), MDA-MB-231 (breast carcinoma) and A549-met (lung adenocarcinoma). All compounds showed certain antiproliferative effect on these cell lines.
