Sažetak
The paper describes problems on the telecommunication devices caused by lightning's and results of the study based on technical and economical solutions. In the pilot project of the surge protection efficiency, the surge protection devices of the Class III have been chosen as the most appropriate solution. The number of damages of the protected and unprotected telecommunication devices has been analyzed from technical and economical point of view. The results of the first study period have shown that the savings of 65% were reached, without taking into account income percentage due to unbroken communication service.
