Sažetak
Special wool balls have been constructed, with the aim of finding an alternative usage for the Croatian wool. Their ability to be used, as an environmentally friendly raw material, to decontaminate water eco-systems in case of most often encountered pollutants (crude oil, motor oils, etc.) has been investigated. The investigations of qualitative and physical-chemical (adsorptive especially) properties of wool fibres and felted wool balls indicate they can be used successfully in manufacturing technical textiles, such as various filters, agro-, geo- and thermo-textiles.
